DIR Bonus Update for November 24, 2009
Welcome to DIR Bonus Update from Ralph Gammon Since you are reading this, chances are you know who I am. You are either a reader of my Document Imaging Report newsletter, have met me at a trade show, signed up for a presentation I've put on, or fall into some combination of those categories. Because of this, I assume you have some vested interest in the document imaging industry and would like to learn more about it. The purpose of Bonus DIR Updates will be to facilitate that education. Email me to join the email distribution list.
Our initial Bonus DIR Updates feature a series of links to news stories that have come in the past month, as well as a link to a recent article that appeared in our regular (subscriber only) edition of the Document Imaging Report. I've carefully chosen and edited the press releases that that were used to create the news links. I've tried to cut out a lot of the fluff and pare down the news to make it a quick informative read. I've also selected the stories that I think will have the most impact on our industry. The editorial is a feature on the recent SharePoint 2009 Conference that I attended.
For subscribers of our regular newsletter, these mailings are designed as a complimentary offering featuring links to many news stories that we didn't have room for in the regular newsletter. I don't know how many times I find myself speaking with a subscriber and ask them if they've seen a particular news releases—and the answer is no. Like the regular newsletter, these news links are designed to be a quick read to get you up to speed on the industry. We also hope to include regular analysis, either borrowed from DIR or from guest writers, that will also prove valuable. For non-subscribers, you can look at this as kind of a DIR Lite, if you will. Of course, once we whet your appetite we hope you'll consider subscribing to our regular publication.
Finally, I guarantee that I will only send material that I have read over and edited first. You can assure that all content of DIR is relatively "garbage-free", however, I will warn that this is my initial shot at this and promise to improve it as I go along. That said, if you do not wish to receive our bonus e-mailings, please respond and I'll take you off the distribution lists.
